OSAKA CASTLE
Build in 1583 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, a renowned daimyo in the Warring States periode, Osaka Castle is a symbol of Osaka, which boasts the five-layered, eight-story donjon modeled after Azuchi Castle. The existing donjon, restored in 1931, has an observatory that commands a breath-taking panorama of Osaka City. The lower floors of the lower floors of the renovated donjon exibisit a collection of armor and memorabilia connected with Hideyoshi. Adding to its grandeur is the magnicent view of the castle tower beautifully illuminated against the night sky.
