NARA PARK
With an area of approximately 660 hectares, Nara Park was established as a public park in Nara City in 1880 and is nationally designated as one of the “Places of Scenic Beauty”. This magnificent park is blessed with many of Nara’s main attractions including Todai-ji Temple, Kofuku-ji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine and is home to nearly 1,100 sacred deer which are believed to be the messengers of the deities of Kasuga Taisha Shrine.
