Kamakura, Yokote at Akita
The small town of Yokote in the northern part of Akita Prefecture celebrates the cold winter weather in mid february by making small igloo like snow huts called kamakura is hand sculpted by hand by schoolchildren on school grounds type of kamakura, some three meters high and a half meter in diameter.
